From the Farms This Week

18th Century Purity Farms – For the final market of the Summer season, we will be bringing cabbage, kale, cauliflower, brussels sprouts, onions, assorted winter squash, and fingerling, Bluegold, and Green Mountain potatoes. We will also have a selection of about 14 apple varieties, including Mac, Cortland, Macoun, Fuji, and several heirlooms such as Roxbury Russet and Rhode Island Greening. In 2 weeks, (starting Nov. 12) we will be attending the Coventry Winter Farmers’ Market, with a similar selection of fruits and vegetables. Friends of the Market will receive a $1 discount off of total purchase.

Colgan Farm – This week, carrots are on special – bagged and bunched 2/$10, red radish, watermelon radish, purple top turnips, curly kale, brussels sprouts, green and cone cabbage, red and yellow onions, purple and white potatoes, butternut, delicata, and red kuri winter squash, eggplant, bell peppers, lumber jack o’lantern wooden pumpkins, and our locally sourced maple and oak hardwood charcuterie and cutting boards.  Friends of the Market get $1 off a purchase of $15 or more.

DeLuca Family Farm – Our fields are done for the year – thanks for a great season!

Easy Pickin’s Orchard – Greens: bok choy, Swiss chard, red and green kale, Tuscan kale, fennel, green and red round cabbage, Savoy cabbage, Napa cabbage, celery, and brussel sprouts. Root vegetables: beets, carrots, turnips, leeks, red and yellow onions, shallots, watermelon radish, black spanish radish, and daikon radish. Other veggies: sweet peppers, habaneros, eggplant, cauliflower, and broccoli. Herbs: dill, sage, thyme, parsley, cilantro. Fruit: Gala, Mcintosh, Empire, Honeycrisp, Golden Delicious, Macoun, and Cortland apples, plus Asian pears. 10% off a $10+ purchase for all Friends of the Market.

River Ridge Farm – Heads of lettuce are back! Napa cabbage, green cabbage, red cabbage, kale, eggplant, sweet peppers still (crazy!), hot peppers, garlic, black garlic, spinach, spring mix greens, swiss chard, parsley, shiso, carrots, broccolini, ginger, fresh turmeric!!!!!, collards, mixed daikon radish, pac choi. sweet potatoes, winter squash, salad radish, salad turnips, flower bunches. Friends of the Market deal – 2 for $5 on kale and purchases of $30+ get a free pac choi!

Shenstone Gardens – Our growing season has come to a close but we’re not done yet! Shenstone Gardens will be bringing Christmas in October again this Sunday with many wreaths and decorations by Suzanne to brighten up any home for the holidays. Friends of the Market get $1 off their total purchase.

Proctor Hall Farm – Chops, spare ribs, country ribs, butt, picnic shoulder, hocks, ground pork, hot & sweet Italian, bratwurst and chorizo, hot dogs, ham steak, and bacon. Whole and half chickens, drumsticks, boneless breasts, and eggs.
